DREAM WITH US abouT A WORLD WHERE NERVOUS SYSTEM CARE IS CHERISHED AND A TRAUMA-INFORMED APPROACH IS NOT OPTIONAL.
The impact trauma has on the body's physiology is immense. It is essential to provide holistic forms of healing for survivors and support them with the integration of mind, body, and spirit amidst all of the disintegration trauma causes.
With an emphasis on the neurophysiology of trauma-informed care, healing professionals will be guided through the intersections between science and softness to transform the way they hold space–both theoretically and by moving through a short practice during the session.
Your unique voice, gifts, and healing are so deeply needed in this world.
If trauma-informed yoga feels like it may be a modality that would complement your current approach and scope of practice, we invite you to discover the foundational frameworks in this 60-minute session.
We were never meant to do this work in isolation- always holding the default nervous system in the room with no loving spaces to recharge. Join like-minded professionals in this educational opportunity which includes a short trauma-informed somatic practice for tending to your nervous system with so much care.
Your trauma-informed space holding is needed now, more than ever.
As we all fight increasingly oppressive systems, folks are searching for inclusive, accessible, and soft places to land. Meeting this moment in history means remembering that caring for each other is all we have.
This webinar invites us to envision a world where the ripples off the mat are endless—where a survivor prioritizes their needs after class because of the empowering and invitational language you used, where consent becomes a true cultural norm, and whole communities have the tools to experience joy and rest.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THIS SACRED GATHERING…
Teaching with Tenderness: Trauma-Informed Yoga and the Intersections of Science and Softness will provide participants with an overview of foundational trauma-informed yoga principles so they can learn about the transformative process of creating inclusive and compassionate space for survivors of trauma. Zabie will discuss how to offer yoga to survivors of trauma in a safe, effective, evidence-based, and healing way. Drawing upon the framework of trauma-informed care and expertise in trauma-informed yoga program development and curriculum, the webinar will explore practical considerations for yoga teachers, mental health professionals, educators, activists, healing professionals, and survivors who are interested in integrating trauma-informed yoga into the scope of their work and/or healing.
After signing up, you’ll receive an email with a link to join our Zoom meeting on Thursday, September 18th at 11am PT / 2pm ET. You are invited to bring a pen and paper to take notes, but all that is needed for this opportunity is your attention and presence.
The lecture will also be accompanied by a brief, seated trauma-informed yoga practice designed to empower students to release trapped psychological and physical energies and come back home to their bodies. This gentle and nourishing somatic practice will invite attendees to channel awareness and presence, find stability and safety in the body, re-pattern the nervous system, and cultivate resilience.
