Designed for yoga and mindfulness teachers, mental-health professionals, and anyone interested in the topic, the workshop will explore both the benefits and pitfalls of meditation and yoga for those experiencing symptoms of traumatic stress.

keynote address at Duke University’s Embodied learning summit: yoga in the era of #metoo
The Embodied Learning Summit is an annual effort to bring together educators, community leaders, families, and students to explore the intersection of social justice, educational systems, and research on yoga and mindfulness. It is an opportunity for the Triangle Area community to share a space to discuss relevant topics and embody the tools they can then take back to their respective settings. This iteration will emphasize the use of yoga and mindfulness practices to address issues relating to sexual trauma and the #MeToo movement.

This 3-day training will provide yoga teachers, mental health professionals, educators, activists, or anyone who is interested in teaching from a trauma-informed lens with all of the necessary tools to create a safe environment for survivors of sexual violence.
