I’m so honored to be on the faculty for Accessible Yoga’s upcoming virtual Trauma & Yoga Series: Exploring Power, Privilege, and Healing from July 29 - August 28, Tuesday and Thursdays 2pm - 4pm PT / 5pm - 7pm ET.

This 10-part workshop online series examines the impact of trauma across diverse communities, and the role of yoga in addressing that trauma. It will bring a nuanced and sensitive approach to discussing how the complexity of trauma intersects with diverse identities and backgrounds.

Each presenter will share a lecture, practice, and discussion in a two-hour session. Topics include:

  • How the roots of yoga are already trauma-informed

  • Caring for grief, loss, and trauma

  • How yoga impacts the nervous system and the trauma response

  • Race-based trauma

  • Trauma and disability

  • Healing our relationships with yoga

  • Boundaries and the teacher/student relationship

  • The role of yoga in supporting sexual abuse survivors

  • Trauma awareness in teaching Accessible Yoga

My session, Trauma-Informed Yoga for Survivors of Sexual Assault: How to Facilitate a Compassionate & Sensitive Space for Healing, is on Thursday, August 21st from 2pm - 4pm PT / 5pm - 7pm ET.
