"Dear Zabie, I don't know where to begin in my gratitude- you are truly one of the most genuine, beautiful, sincere, strongest, honest, and inspirational women I have ever met. This has been an amazing eye-opening and life-changing experience for me. I am so excited and blessed to meet you and be on this journey with you! It was so worth it for me to come, it has been healing and emotional. My confidence has grown so much this weekend."

I've been doing a lot of self-reflection this week as I'm finishing up the last pages of my website. The last page just so happens to be the consultation services.

It's been an interesting process, challenging, but mostly it's been amazing! As I'm reflecting on my purpose in terms of the consultation, I keep coming back this idea passing yoga practices forward from one individual to the next and spreading yoga into our communities.

I've had such an amazing experience working with you and working with my other mentor on building my private practice, and I have to say that I've been so fortunate to see immediate results based on the wealth of knowledge that the two of you have.

So, with in this entire process I think I just got my first consultation gig...

I feel so honored that they see the value in the work that I want to provide and I wanted to extend my most heartfelt thank you to you for helping me put my vision into practice.

I am forever grateful!!"

- Trauma-Informed Yoga Instructor (placed to teach to survivors on a college campus)

Whether you have participated in a past training with Transcending Sexual Trauma through Yoga or you are interested in incorporating trauma-sensitivity into your teaching, this one-to-one option may be a great fit for you! It is my passion to support you in finding your authentic teaching voice as you navigate your own path of healing others through yoga. Additionally, I want to provide you with all of the tangible tools and resources needed to build your own comprehensive yoga therapy program.

Now more than ever,  colleges, universities, and agencies are understanding that the creation of multiple pathways to heal is pivotal for survivors. Leaving the body out of the equation when developing support services for survivors is no longer an option. Most importantly, the spectrum of healing is so vast and due to factors such as stigma around help seeking and cultural barriers, it is essential that we increase accessibility to multiple approaches to heal. As many of us know, not every survivor will heal in the same way. By creating trauma-informed spaces in your classes and your programs, you have the ability to change and save lives.

When I first developed the Yoga as Healing program for survivors of sexual violence at the University of California, Irvine I thought at a very basic level I could offer survivors tools for self care and strategies for managing anxiety and depression. After the 8 week series there were survivors who were empowered to report their assault to law enforcement because they felt so strong and stable in their bodies. Others shared that they were able to be intimate again with a partner because they learned how to assertively communicate their boundaries and what they are comfortable with. Read more here about the transformational experiences of survivors who have incorporated yoga into their healing process. You can support survivors through the empowering environment that you create in class to facilitate their healing off the mat. I look forward to supporting you in your own teaching journey!
